This year’s NYC Gay Pride Parade will have more than 50 floats, 300 marching organizations and thousands of bystanders partying the day away! Everyone comes together for a celebration of equality, love, and whole lot of drag queens. When I’ve gone to the NYC Gay Pride Parade in the past, I’ve found it best to get there early to ensure a good spot up front! Expect great music, lots of dancing, and the best performers you’ve ever seen! And don’t worry too much about your outfit, because trust me honey, you’ll be out dressed with every costume you see! Those looking for where the party is nonstop, go straight to the Village! If you’re looking for a less crowded way to watch the parade, I recommend taking yourself to the northern areas of the march (anything above Madison Square Park) which tends to be less crowded. The march on June 28 th, which follows a lavender painted line, starts at 36 th street at Fifth Avenue and makes its way down to the West Village – the birthplace of the modern gay rights movement. But don’t get me wrong it’s still one hell of a party out on the streets! So get out there and enjoy it. festival, parade, or celebration in metro Phoenix for almost 40 years.

Now, the NYC Gay Pride Parade is much more than just a march! The festivities that lead up to the march, and the march itself, commemorate the Stonewall riots, which launched the gay-rights movement. In 1981, a group of gay & lesbian activists organized the first Pride march. The term 'Gay Pride' was crafted by Thom Higgins, a gay rights activist in Minnesota (1969+). No matter who you are, it’s time to celebrate equality here at the annual NYC Gay Pride Parade March! The official march, which culminates the month long celebration of Gay Pride, will take place June 28 th.
